Of course everyone hates deadlines. And mostly they are not as important as they used to be. We are now better at managing things asynchronously. However sometimes they are unique and beautifully important.
# Show, game and rituals A birthday party is not much of a party if people turn up on different days. A football match is not quite working, if the players and supporters are never all together at the same time.
We use these rituals to provide more than simple utility, they give us a feeling of togetherness, and a sense of what can be achieved.
# That whooshing sound Inspires fear. It is a stress of course, but that can be enjoyed, and not simply as an excuse. We can expereince the pace of time, and that can make us feel alive. Furthermore having expereinced it, we can step outside of this experience and then truly enjoy the peacefulness and quite of Kairos.
# Asynchronous Is something new. It is only with newer techniques that embody intelligence, and emergent design principles that Kairos becomes perodcutive at the social scale. The metronome of teh gods is not the only way to drill an army.
