My brother’s music shed

My brother has a shed at the back of his garden in London. It's a traditional London shed. In Berlin, and across Eastern Europe the tradition of a Dacha is essentially a more impressive garden or allotment shed. They are popular. A place for dreams.

My brothers shed is for music. He came to music (guita playing in his case) quite late in life, and as the children have moved out and there is more space - his shed became a space he could devote to his new hobby - more than a hobby - rather a new focus of life - playing music.

In one way this is Hitchhiking - in that it involves a movement out of the hum-drum of life into a new and different space. But it only trul becomes hitchhiking when that movement is taken one step further - when it becomes a journey.
