In this pattern, a **smiley** is the icon for a Living Story. A smiley does not come from a book sticker or a payment. It is born at the moment a story is: - created by children (or adults) - transformed into a Living Story media piece - successfully shared with an elder or a partner school, and received Each Living Story thus produces at least one smiley. - The elder’s smiley represents “I received your story and it meant something to me”. - The children’s smiley represents “We see your response and know our story travelled”. On dashboards and project pages, these smileys are the counters of real exchanges. They show where lives have actually touched, not just where money has moved.
