Tending The Ground

Before a story can grow, there needs to be a place where it feels possible.

Story Gardeners help create that place. They encourage shy children to read their first line out loud. They reassure adults who say “I’m not creative” that everyday life is already full of stories worth sharing. They help elders feel that their memories matter and are welcome.

Sometimes this is as simple as arranging chairs in a circle and saying “who wants to go first”. Sometimes it means designing prompts, games or gentle structures so that nobody feels put on the spot. The important part is the atmosphere. A Story Gardener creates a sense of safety and play in which Living Stories and Living Guides can take root.
