Pair Writing

In Pair Writing there is one writer and one or more people helping or simply observering the writer. The focus remains on writing, and usually occors in a breakout room, with the writer sharing their work back to the larger group at the end of the session.

# Opposites Pairs are often organised as opposites with each participant having a diverse skill sets or lived experience. This is not a hard-and-fast rule, but it is a feature of the practice. It is equally possible for two writers that complement each other and enjoy writing together to form a pair.

# Intergenerational Pairs

This practice fits naturally with intergenerational work. In the case of the H2G2 Workshop an explicit aim is to match-and-mix intergenerational pairs. One writer may have knowledge and experience of the early internet and the content available on the H2G2 Website - with a younger participant having knowledge of contemporary social media practice.

# Interdisciplinary Pairs It will often be useful for pairs to have complementary skills and diverse interests. A writer may be best paired with an artist, researcher or illustrator. Or a participant with a focus on creative writing, may be productively paired with a scientist, or coder.
