A hitchhiker-style writing workshop should be a quirky and fun experieence. Here are some practical ingredients that I believe we can engage in at an early stage:
1. H2G2 Study Group 1. Non-visual Presence 1. Intergenerational Pairs 1. Mixed Media Writers 1. Building Writing Tools 1. Shut-up-and-Write
# Imagine
Imagine a small group, organised by personal invitation - several weeks in advance. We should aim for somewhere between 5 and 15 people - but the format is flexible to number. And we have a goal - to Write a Guide Together.
We start by meeting up - as we do on the Sunday Calls - without face-to-face video - and instead we share our non-visual presence. The experience is Quirky and Experimental, with a Focus on Writing.
Each writer is paired with an opposite. We break into small groups of two or three. Often we pair a writer for the H2G2 community with a younger writer or artist. This pairing allows us to assemble an H2G2 Study Group composed of mixed media writers.
The experimental process involves the use of some new Hitchhiker Tools that we don;t claim to be polished or finsihed, but are equally part of the story. We write about what we wish to build, the future of the tools we imagine - and then we have some fun building some of them. We start with the H2G2 Post Tool.
# Next - Workshop Organisation
# Who and When We aim to start a workshop - when it is ready - that is when we have participants. Ideally we have Three Coordinators and an Integrator. See:
A good target would be a minumum of 6 committed people, starting some time in August - or if this is not possible latest 18th of September.
